Everyone should incorporate greens into their breakfast and this is quite possibly the easiest way to do so without actually realizing you are! Smoothies are also the fastest breakfast to make and most convenient to consume as you shower, get ready, get your kids ready and start your work commute – lots to do each morning! Since you’re busy let’s get your well nourished to tackle your whole day. There are a ton of ways you can incorporate veggies, especially greens in smoothies but let’s just have you start with a small baby step with this very simple recipe.
created by Sarah Maughan (but it’s so basic, I can’t really claim it as my own)
Ingredients
1 banana or 1 cup mango (fresh or frozen)
1 large handful spinach (about 1 cup packed tightly)
1/2 cup unsweetened milk (I use almond milk)
water to desired consistency
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Vega Sport or Genuine Health Vegan)*
*you can use 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt for protein instead of protein powder if you can have dairy but I haven’t experimented with this so I can’t guarantee you won’t taste the spinach
Directions
Blend! It helps if you add very little liquid until the spinach is fully creamed and then add extra water so it blends more completely.
Enjoy your energizing morning!
